INTRODUCTION

We are reimagining the way we produce and consume. Where the product is part of the solution. Our journey begins with a collection of sweaters, cultivated regeneratively, leaving the earth better than we found it. Introducing a regenerative, carbon-negative wool sweater collection by Janessa Leoné in partnership with Shaniko Wool Company. Réciproque reimagines the way we produce and consume clothing, transforming the relationship between what we wear and the land from where it is sourced. In optimizing the nexus of climate change mitigation, regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and wool production, we are establishing a circular fashion culture that benefits the wearer, the producer, and the global climate.

THE COLLECTION

The Réciproque sweater capsule reimagines the way we produce and consume clothing.

Healing the earth through a mutual relationship between what we wear and the land from where it is sourced.

Optimizing the nexus of climate change mitigation, regenerative agriculture, local supply chain, carbon sequestration, and textile production.

Janessa Leoné is the first apparel fashion brand to bring garments to market that are designed and manufactured from start to finish through the only fully traceable, 100% Responsible Wool Certified wool producer in the US, Shaniko Wool Company. Shaniko Wool is a group of ranches which seeks to have a net positive impact on the environment with regenerative grazing and agricultural practices.

RECIPROCITY

Humanity is simply demanding more from the Earth than it can provide.

To restore balance, we need to be reciprocal in our interaction with the land.

We must give back what we take. As we sow, so shall we reap.

A symbiotic existence.

DEPLETION

Our world is suffering.

Heatwaves.
Rising sea levels.
Intense drought.
Warming oceans.
Desertification.
Food insecurity.

Ecological threats caused by excess carbon in the atmosphere and too little in our soil.

These are the results of our one-sided relationship with the land.

We have depleted our largest resource.

REGENERATION

Regenerative farming techniques increase organic matter that can draw carbon from the atmosphere into the soil.

Soil fertility.
Water retention.
Crop diversity.
Grazing animals.
Carbon sequestration.

When we prioritize this biodynamic relationship between soil, animal, and sunlight, the land begins to heal. Creating equilibrium in the carbon cycle. Stabilizing the climate and restoring ecosystem health.

And when our relationship with the earth is reciprocal, we begin to make purposeful and lasting change.

THE PROCESS

All processing steps must be certified to make sure the chain of custody is maintained to the last level of production.

Our sweaters are produced entirely in the U.S. with 100% Shaniko Wool Company fine, undyed Merino Wool allowing for a significantly lower carbon footprint than traditionally dyed wool that is sourced through a globalized supply chain.
