WHAT DOES REGENERATIVE MEAN?
Regenerative refers to a practice of land stewardship that incorporates animals as means to heal the soil. Our animals graze open pastures in a method that allows the land to rest and heal and in turn creates soil that is more robust in storing carbon. Our regenerative practices sequester more carbon than what is required to produce our products, making our products carbon negative- naturally, without buying carbon offsets. We have created a supply chain that is solving the problem instead of worsening it.

REGENERATIVE KNITS
Luxurious in every way that matters, Janessa Leoné’s collection of sweaters has been thoughtfully designed from regeneratively-sourced leathers since its inception. The wool we use is produced in partnership with Shaniko Wool Company, the only North American wool supplier to achieve Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certification.
This commitment to nurturing natural resources results not only in a carbon-negative impact on the environment, but also a superior quality to the textiles themselves– the wool used in this collection boasts a smooth hand feel comparable to conventionally raised cashmere, making Janessa Leoné sweaters heirloom quality.
REGENERATIVE LEATHER
Our collection of regeneratively-sourced leather handbags redefines timeless style, with its superior design starting with the thoughtful cultivation of its raw materials. By sourcing our hides from regenerative ranches, we are collaborating with partners working to replenish the earth and choosing innately better quality leather.
The fine-grain smoothness of our handbags is a direct result of how and where we source our materials, representing our commitment to circularity and honoring longevity in all its forms.
True beauty is only as great as its impact.
With this in mind, we carefully sourced the raw materials of our latest Réciproque collection from regenerative farms, partnering with ranches that replenish depleted land through agricultural practices that naturally support ecosystems. This land stewardship builds soil health, increases biodiversity, and sequesters carbon, surpassing simple sustainability by resulting in a net positive impact– leaving the environment better than we found it.
The regenerative origins of our yarns and leathers impact their quality, resulting in a sumptuous tactility far more luxurious than conventionally sourced materials.
With purpose, and with intention, the limited assortment of wool sweaters and leather handbags in the latest Réciproque collection honors longevity in all its forms.
We are reimagining the way we produce and consume.
We find ourselves living in a time of depleted natural resources, which are a direct result of humanity taking more from the Earth than it can provide. To restore balance, we need to be reciprocal in our interaction with the land.
Regeneration is the key to a symbiotic existence– and so we are intentionally designing a process and products that are part of the solution. By sourcing our raw materials from regenerative ranches, we are restoring ecosystems and ultimately drawing carbon from the atmosphere into their soil, meaning that our supply chain begins with a net climate positive environmental impact.
From there, we are certifying every step in our production chain, choosing domestic and transparent suppliers for a significantly lower carbon footprint than traditionally dyed wool that is sourced through a globalized supply chain.
